Turkey Chili

A hearty and flavorful chili made with lean ground turkey, beans, and spices, served hot in a bowl and topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped onions. Perfectly paired with crunchy tortilla chips for dipping.

Ingredients:

For the Chili:

• 500g ground turkey

• 1 onion, diced

• 2 garlic cloves, minced

• 1 red bell pepper, diced

• 400g canned diced tomatoes

• 300g canned kidney beans, drained and rinsed

• 300g canned black beans, drained and rinsed

• 250ml chicken broth

• 2 tbsp tomato paste

• 2 tsp chili powder

• 1 tsp ground cumin

• ½ tsp smoked paprika

• Salt and black pepper, to taste

• 1 tbsp olive oil

For Topping & Serving:

• 100g shredded cheddar cheese

• 100g sour cream

• 1 small onion, finely chopped

• Tortilla chips

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Turkey and Vegetables
    Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Add diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sauté for 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add the Chili Ingredients
    Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chicken broth, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Serve and Garnish
    Spoon chili into bowls. Top each serving with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and chopped onions. Serve with tortilla chips on the side for dipping.
