Chili Dogs

Ingredients:

For the Chili:

• 250g ground beef

• 1 small onion, diced

• 2 garlic cloves, minced

• 200g canned diced tomatoes

• 150g canned kidney beans, drained and rinsed

• 2 tbsp tomato paste

• 1 tsp chili powder

• ½ tsp cumin

• Salt and black pepper, to taste

• 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Chili Dogs:

• 4 hot dog sausages

• 4 hot dog buns

• 80g shredded cheddar cheese

• 1 small onion, finely chopped (for topping)

For the Side:

• 300g fries (frozen or homemade)

• Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Make the Chili
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté until softened. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15–20 minutes until thickened.
  2. Cook the Hot Dogs and Fries
    Cook hot dogs by boiling, grilling, or pan-frying until heated through. Meanwhile, cook fries according to package instructions or bake fresh-cut potatoes until golden and crisp. Season fries with salt.
  3. Assemble the Chili Dogs
    Place hot dogs in buns, spoon chili generously over each, and top with shredded cheese and chopped onions. Serve with fries on the side.
